About Nick Haigh: I am a wildlife photographer with over twenty years of photography experience. I became immersed in nature and wildlife from a very young age, and having moved to West Cork in 2016, I have further honed my photography skills. My passion lies in capturing and documenting wild animals, driven by a deep fascination with nature, evolution and behaviour. I seek to shed light on the intricacies of biodiversity, having recognized its significance in the face of evident climate change. The time I have spent studying flora and fauna in their natural habitat underscores the urgent need to protect our planet for future generations. Wildlife photography is indeed a challenging endeavor. Mastering the nuances of different seasons, interpreting animal behavior accurately, and ensuring that the subject remains undisturbed by your presence are tasks that require patience, skill, and a deep understanding of the natural world.
My wife Ann and I share a deep connection to nature, albeit through different lenses - mine mostly through the skies, filled with birds of prey or swallows, while she looks into the intricate world of small creatures such as within rock pools, under logs, or visiting flowers.
