Come join us at 49 North St for a captivating event delving into the rich tradition of Irish work songs with Siobhán Ní Mhuimhneacháin and Maebh Ní Dhuinnín.

This interactive, bilingual workshop will give participants an insight into work songs of old as well as newly-written material. The workshop will involve a live demonstration, video footage, and an opportunity for participants to engage with and sing work songs.

Please bring your own sweeping brush to this workshop!

Siobhán Ní Mhuimhneacháin and Maebh Ní Dhuinnín hail from Kilnamartyra, in the Muskerry Gaeltacht in Co. Cork. Born into families steeped in the Irish worksong tradition, both grew up learning and performing worksongs from a very young age. Siobhán and Maebh have won several Oireachtas awards for Lúibíní and Amhráin Saothaoir/work songs. We are delighted that they are sharing their knowledge of this tradition and of new and old worksongs at this year's festival!
