Ten years on, No 49 continues its work as a community hub promoting creativity and connection through a diverse programme of activities such as Mindfulness, Music and the Arts, Doughnut Economics agus Gaeilge Labhartha (le béim ar stair agus cultúir na tíre agus na teangan).
11:45 – 12:30 Keynote speaker, Dr Pat Bracken will outline how engaging with our history and culture and re-connecting with our native language can inform a practical and holistic approach to mental health and wellbeing. We will explore how vital this connection can be not only for our own inner journey, but also for our connection with other people and the natural environment.
We will also show three short films. Participants will have an opportunity to engage in Caidreamh agus Comhráin small groups and learn more about the many other groups helping to build a healthy and vibrant community in Skibbereen.
Kevin O’Shanahan, Ian Lawton and singer- songwriter Jake Stanley will be joining Dr Bracken for a panel discussion and the event will conclude with opportunities for feedback, discussion and questions and answers. Our host for the day is Lonán Ní Dhubháin.
We look forward to exploring our vision for the future, especially how No 49 and the many community groups we collaborate with can contribute to the future wellbeing of our town.
