Skibbereen City Project

Just when many people have flocked to Skibbereen to escape the city, one comes along, bang in the middle of the town! However with this city you can come to appreciate the fine architecture and design, and marvel at the skills of the young builders.

This City has been developing in the schools around Skibbereen since April.

Supported by Cork County Arts Office, two artists visited 14 local schools to facilitate workshops with the local children using paper and card. Many teachers also got involved by looking at architecture and design with the children and helping to apply the finishing touches to the work. They have all now come together to make our own miniature city .

Schools that participated -  Skibbereen Community School, St Patricks Boys school, St Josephs Girls school, Sciobairín Gaelscoil, Abbeystrewry NS, Rath NS, Castletownshend NS, Union Hall NS, Glandore NS, Leap NS, Dreeny NS, Maultrahane NS, Lisheen NS, Kilcoe NS.
