A practical, hands on workshop with local sustainable fashion designer, Alice Halliday.
For over 20 years, Alice has been creating clothing and accessories. Passionate about working with reclaimed materials, her design ethos is to give old fabrics a beautiful new lease of life.
Throwaway fashion is a huge global problem, which needs to be addressed at home on a smaller scale. With just a little imagination we can save our clothing and textiles from being thrown away, where they usually end up in landfill!
There are so many ways to breathe fresh energy into our wardrobes, simply by making adjustments and improvements to pieces we already have.
In this sewing workshop, you will learn some creative ways to fix and revamp your own garments. Alice will show you some simple and effective methods of upcycling, mending and embellishing.
Make sure to bring along a piece of clothing (or two) that you wish to transform!
Materials will be provided, but please bring your own sewing kit and anything you might wish to use.
