The Scoraíocht Sessions are monthly art jams at The Straw Barn. Scoraíocht is a social gathering often held in someone’s house to meet, play games or music together.
Our Scoraíocht Session is a space to collaborate with creative minds in an experimental and welcoming setting.
Movement, sound, costume, crafting and drawing are all welcome here: A bunch of reeds can become a percussion tool, field recordings, a dance track or movement creates a drawing.
Current science reminds us that unstructured play together can be a powerful catalyst for ‘neuro-plasticity’ giving our minds the chance to rewire, release and take imaginative leaps.
You are invited to bring sound making materials , drawing materials, masks or more with you.
Tea and snacks provided but you're welcome to bring a bite to share at the end.
Parking is limited so car-shares are encouraged (approximately 15 minute drive from Skibbereen). Post Code will be shared upon booking.
The Straw Barn is a new arts studio on the West Cork coast, home to artist William Bock and dance practitioner Andrew Coombs. The studio hosts and advocates for nature-centred collaborative arts practice through embodied learning and queer hospitality.
