Although born in Dublin, Eoin Ó Ríabhaigh has spent his entire life in beautiful Cork, his younger years in the city and the last 30 or so in Dripsey, on the banks of the Lee. Eoin started playing at age nine, under the watchful eyes of his father Micheál, who at the time taught pipes in the School of Music in Cork, and also chaired the Cork Piper’s Club for many years. This is still the oldest Uilleann Piper’s Club in the world. Eoin has toured extensively, both as a performer and teacher, and has featured on many recordings in a variety of musical genres. His solo album, Tiomnacht, is still available on the Gael Linn label. Though still playing regularly, Eoin is a full time Uilleann Pipe maker, operating from his Dripsey based workshop.
Macdara Ó Faoláín is a multi-instrumentalist and instrument maker from An Rinn, County Waterford. On his main instrument, bouzouki, he has performed and recorded with some of the best musicians in traditional Irish music including Páraic MacDonnchadha, Derek Hickey, and The Friel Sisters. His intimate knowledge of harmony and gentle instrumental technique come together to create his own unique style of accompaniment. He is the current TG4 Gradam Ceoil Young Musician of the Year.
A gentle and consistent voice on the Irish folk-roots scene, singer-songwriter Ger Wolfe has a subtle way of weaving his magical music into the heart of the listener. Creating ‘carefully crafted vignettes of song’ to all who come to listen (Irish Times), including his well-loved ode to innocence ‘The Curra Road’ – a ‘classic of grace and simplicity which should become a folk standard’ (The Boston Globe)
Drawing from the wells of traditional and contemporary folk, Ger plays spirited and heartfelt music, all at once lyrical, melodic and poetic. Prepare to be bedazzled by his unmistakable voice and inimitable guitar playing.
