Kemi George Simpson and Henny Lees in Conversation

Cork City Poet, Kemi George Simpson, and London-based multimedia artist, Henny Lees, will talk about shape, colour, ekphrasis, dyslexia and nonagenarian mothers: all part of the subject matter that shaped their collaborative project, Bright Patterns.

Kemi and Henny met via SWERVE’s annual art/writing exchange where writers and artists are introduced to explore a joint project for publication in the journal. Kemi and Henny will describe their creative journey to Bright Patterns (published in SWERVE 3). After their conversation Kemi will read a selection from the poems, followed by a short Q & A chaired by MC Catherine Ronan.

Some of Henny’s paintings from Bright Patterns will be exhibited in SWERVE Gallery and Project Space so there will be an opportunity to view them before and after the event.
