Peter Nash

For his residency at Uillinn, Cork County Council / Uillinn Artist in Residence 2022 Peter Nash is researching and producing a new hand-drawn stop motion animation inspired by the locale of Skibbereen and informed by the west Cork landscape and his interactions with people and place. Informed by ongoing research into pre-internet sources of knowledge and methods of communication, Peter Nash’s practice includes drawing, printmaking, animation and sculpture. Embracing a deliberately hand-made aesthetic, and drawing on influences including fairy tales, reference books and museum visits, his work is an exploration of human fallibility in an age of digital perfection, alternative facts and increasing automation.
