Skibbereen FeelGood Festival
Dr. Tríona Ní Shíocháin from the Department Of Music at U.C.C will give a workshop on Sean nós singing including songs from the West Munster repertoire - from lullabies to love songs to satirical songs. The workshop will involve songs, storytelling and discussion on the importance of singing for society and well-being, and how changes in singing practices in modern times have had a profound effect on our experience of the world. It is proposed that the song practices of traditional communities are vital social and cultural practices that enrich, re-energise and rebalance every day life, plus promoting social and personal well-being.
The workshop will take place at 49 North Street, home to the regular drop-in Irish conversation group - Pop-Up Gaeltacht
